A new Station for Aylesbury.

Aylesbury Vale Parkway is a new railway station that will be located on the north-western outskirts of Aylesbury, approximately 2¼ miles from the existing Aylesbury station.

The station will be located next to the A41 road and adjacent to the Berryfields development.  The station will be linked to the A413 near Weedon Hill via a new link road.

The station will be served by Chiltern Railways services to and from London Marylebone via Amersham.  Trains will be hourly for much of the day and will run seven days a week.  During Monday to Friday peak periods there will be up to three trains per hour to or from London.

There will be a 400-space car park at the station.  It will also serve as a park-and-ride site for Aylesbury Town Centre with buses linking the site to the town centre.

The station will have a single platform and a station building incorporating a ticket office, toilets, heated waiting area and a shop.

The station and car park will be equipped with CCTV security cameras and help points.

In addition to the construction of the new station and the associated car park, the project involves upgrading the existing freight line that connects the site of the new station to the existing Aylesbury station to make it suitable for use by passenger trains.  These upgrading works involve relaying the existing track and providing new signaling equipment.

Preliminary design work has already been completed.  The next phase in the design process has now commenced.  Construction works will commence in early 2007 with the upgrading of the railway infrastructure.  The station is expected to open in early 2009.
